Pace Privacy

By using Pace, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Core Calculation Data

When you use Pace to calculate running pace and times, all data processing occurs locally on your device. Calculations are not stored, transmitted, or retained by us. Any data entered into the app for calculation purposes is typically cleared when you exit the application, ensuring your raw calculation inputs remain private to your device.

Information Collected by Third-Party Advertisers (Google AdMob)

Pace displays advertisements using Google AdMob. To provide more relevant ads, AdMob may collect and use your device’s Advertising Identifier. This identifier may be used to infer your interests and demographics to show you personalized ads.

  • What is the Advertising Identifier? It’s a unique, user-resettable identifier for advertising purposes on your device.
  • Control Your Ad Settings: You can limit ad tracking or reset your Advertising Identifier at any time through your device’s settings (typically found under “Privacy & Security” or “Ads”).
  • Data Shared with Google: We do not share any other personal data with Google beyond what is necessary for AdMob to function.
  • Ad-Free Experience: A one-time in-app purchase is available to disable all advertisements and the associated data sharing for ad personalization.

Information Collected by Anonymous Analytics (Google Firebase)

To improve the App and fix bugs, we use Google’s Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. This service collects anonymous, aggregated data that does not identify you personally.

  • Firebase Analytics: Helps us understand overall app usage patterns (e.g., which features are used most, app version, device type, operating system version) to make informed decisions about future development.
  • Crashlytics: Records technical details about app crashes to help us diagnose and fix stability issues. This typically includes device model, OS version, and a stack trace of the error.

We do not use this data to track individual user behavior.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected:

  • To display relevant advertisements (via AdMob, using your Advertising Identifier if enabled).
  • To improve the App’s functionality, user experience, and stability (via Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics).
  • To troubleshoot and resolve bugs (via Crashlytics).

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data with third parties.

  • Third-Party Service Providers: Information that is collected by Google AdMob and Firebase is handled directly by Google according to their respective privacy policies. We limit the data shared with these services to what is necessary for their intended function.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or similar legal process.

4. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we handle. Since core calculation data is processed and cleared locally on your device, and analytics/ad data is managed by Google, we rely on the security measures provided by your device’s operating system and Google’s services.

By downloading, installing, and using Pace, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. You can manage ad personalization and data sharing through your device’s settings and by opting for the in-app purchase to remove ads.

6. Your Rights and Choices

  • Advertising: You can control ad personalization by resetting or disabling your device’s Advertising Identifier in your device settings.
  • Analytics: You can opt-out of Firebase Analytics data collection by uninstalling the app or by managing app-specific settings if available in future versions.
  • Data Access/Deletion: Since we do not store your personal data, there is no personal data for you to access, correct, or delete.

7. Children’s Privacy

Pace is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children.

8. International Data Transfers

The App processes data locally on your device. Any data handled by third parties (Google) is subject to their own data handling practices.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App. Your continued use of the App after such changes will constitute your acceptance of the new policy.
